Documentation where you are

See documentation for the thing at point.

Eldoc shows contextual documentation in the echo area when the current mode provides it. Global Eldoc mode enables it in supported buffers, including Emacs Lisp.

When the echo area is too small, run M-x eldoc-doc-buffer to open a dedicated documentation buffer. This command is available in Emacs 28 and later.

Eglot supplies Eldoc information for its managed buffers. Enabling Eldoc alone does not install a language server or invent documentation for modes without a provider.

  :ensure nil
  :init (global-eldoc-mode 1))
