People before configuration

About the group

An open door, not another tool to learn.

This is a place for people who use Emacs, used to use Emacs, or are curious about it. Bring a question, a small discovery, or a configuration that finally makes sense.

Short demos, practical notes, and conversation are more useful than perfect presentations. Beginners are welcome. You do not need a particular language, operating system, or level of experience.

This website borrows a few ideas from Emacs. A page is a buffer. The bottom bar is a mode-line. M-x is a quick way to find an action. You can also just use the links.

GitHub holds our published knowledge and membership records. Pull requests make changes; Discussions are for conversation. There is no separate account or private database here.

A website, not an editor

The fixed bottom bar tells you which page you are reading. Select the buffer name to switch pages, or open M-x to find any action. Nothing here requires Emacs knowledge.

See the keyboard and pointer guide. Join with a small contribution.

Between gatherings

The scratch-buffer Teams chat is a place for quick questions and conversation.
